NAME: Orthographic Camera

AUTHOR: Vince Mckelvie, web developer at Adult Swim and talented net artist who also created James Deen’s trippy video back in April.

DESCRIPTION: Colorful and abstract 3D forms evolve on your computer screen slowly moving from left to right in this interactive piece by Vince Mckelvie. Play around with your cursor to change the colors and alter the shapes. It looks messy and deconstructed at times but you will soon learn to appreciate the beauty of this digital collage. If you’re the lucky owner of an Oculus Rift, make sure to check out the version created for the VR headset for an even more immersive experience.

AMUSEMENT RATE: It’s pretty cold outside, we’re in this weird transition period between Christmas and New Year’s Eve and you must probably feel somewhat idle. Just embrace this feeling and stare at the Orthographic Camera while listening to some ambient music. Vince Mckelvie’s creation is like a fireworks for your computer screen. Look at the beautiful neon pink shape! Here comes a purple brush stroke! A feast for the eyes that will never cease to amaze you. Come 2015, you will be able to close the tab it’s on and resume your daily activities. You’re welcome.
