NAME: cloaque.mov

AUTHOR: Cloaque.org, a collaborative project on Tumblr celebrating the creativity of Internet art through an ongoing “cadavre exquis”.

DESCRIPTION: Claudia Maté and Carlos Sáez, the two founders of Cloaque.org commissioned 5 differents artists to create a video for their website’s first anniversary. The five artists, Chris Timms, Rollin Leonard, Jasper Elings, Anthony Antonellis and Emilio Gomariz, had 30 seconds to express themselves freely. Maté and Saez then preoceeded to merge the five videos into one to a musical track by Yoshi Sodeoka. CGI characters, desktop modifications or Geocities-inspired scenes, the result is quite representative of the diversity and resourcefulness of the digital art.

AMUSEMENT RATE: This video is a great animated counterpart to the creativity happening every day on cloaque.org. Let’s hope this initiative will recur more often than once a year, I could watch CGI dolphin jumping over huge number 5 every day.
