NAME: UV-light installations
AUTHOR: JeongMoon Choi, a Korean artist based in Berlin.
DESCRIPTION: Threads illuminated by ultraviolet lights create a new dimension into the space of the installation. Choi’s work questions our environnement and our perception of interior and exterior spaces. She first started using thread and UV light in 2010 and has since then exhibited her installations all around the world.
AMUSEMENT RATE: The illusion created by these installations is mind blowing. Did we accidentally step into Tron‘s grid? Our senses are confused by the new perspective of the room. One coud think it is a projection of some sort, and yet, nothing digital is at work here. It is kinda crazy to imagine one can achieve that with only a few yards of thread of some black lights.
