NAME: GameStick portable console
AUTHOR: PlayJam, a development company specialized in TV games.
DESCRIPTION: The smallest TV gaming console ever created! This HDMI stick is so tiny that it can fit inside its own controller. Just plug it into your TV and start playing. The console is based on Android to benefit from its large and open ecosystem. PlayJam has already identified 200 Android games that could be played with the GameStick but they are already working with over 250 developers to bring to the console an even better line up. The GameStick has only been on Kickstarter for 48h but it has already exceeded its initial goal. At $79 for the console and the controller, the pledge really is a no brainer. Go over there to support the project and receive your very own GameStick next April.
AMUSEMENT RATE: Six months ago, OUYA was thought to be the console which would revolutionize gaming on TV. It might now be the GameStick. PlayJam does not want to compete with more powerful consoles like the Xbox or the PS3, their goal is to bring the revolution that happen with mobile gaming onto a bigger screen. An affordable and open platform which could more easily welcome innovations from indie developers.
