NAME: Dancing Colors
AUTHOR: Fabian Oefner, a Swiss art photographer living near Zurich.
DESCRIPTION: Explosions of color pigments are captured by the sharp eye of Fabian Oefner. Music going through a speaker covered in plastic foil makes the pigments “dance” in the air. It is this very brief moment that interests Oefner. To reveal the invisible, he connected a microphone to a flash system which triggers the lights as soon as a sound comes up.
AMUSEMENT RATE: The sound waves become visible! There must be hundreds of ways to represent sound, but Oefner’s representation is very pleasing. His photographs freeze the colors up in the air, revealing what a human eye cannot see. Poetic and colorful, exactly how sound should look like.
