DESCRIPTION: In Code Hero, the gamer embodies a programmer who can progress in the FPS game by influencing the real source code of the game. He uses a “code gun” which allows the gamer to shoot some Javascript lines in the settings or in the enemy face: an alien faces you, shoot him with a command like “GameObject.DestroyGameObject.find” ! Code Hero is real 1982 TRON.

AMUSEMENT RATING: 3/5. Code Hero has an innovating gameplay. The gamer must learn some basic Javascript in order to progress in the game. Innovating? Not really. Erik Svedang proposed one year before a game entitled else { Heart.break() } which uses the same gameplay. The only difference between the two games is that the graphic design is more detailed in the second one. Both are still being developed, so it’s a real race in innovation which is taking place right now on the Web.
