NAME: Journey

AUTHOR: Jenova Chen and Nicholas Clark are two brilliant Indie game developers. Creators of the games: flOw and flOwer who were rewarded many times, they created their own development studio “thatgamecompany“. They now work in association with Sony.

LOCATION: Journey will be available mid-Mars in Japan and in the US on the Playstation Store for $15.

DESCRIPTION: Jenova Chen and Nicholas Clark signed a beautiful game. Between poetry and game of exploration, Journey turns you into an atypical character made of fabric. He has to go through a gigantic desert, searching for the other characters who help him find his way. It’s impossible to say more about the intrigue because the details are still jealously kept by the creators who prefer to promote the artistic realization. Close to the “Toon Rendering” (design technique giving a cartoony appearance to a game), the design reminds us of a cartoon which would have been as precise as a grain of sand. For proof, the detail of the sand which moves when the main character slides or glides over it.

AMUSEMENT RATING: ?/5. The trailer of the game perfectly manages to communicate the personality of this future video game. The poetry, the beauty, the elegance are present in every movement of the character in this universe which might be a desert but nevertheless rich in beautiful details. We just regret the choice to keep the future players in the dark concerning the intrigue of the game. We’ll have to test it to know more.
