DESCRIPTION: A humanoid sports coach capable of following you in your daily routine, the Gymbot robot has thermic sensors and a scanner to monitor your performance: calories burned, running speed… It will even prevent you from getting a heart attack.

LOCATION: Released at the Amserdam ICSR Design Award 2011, Gymbot should be in selling situation in 2020.

AMUSEMENT RATING: 2 on 5. True 21 Century’s Astroboy, Gymbot is an all-inclusive robot: ability to save the world (from overweight), foolproof effectiveness… But this robotic coach will reprimand you if you start breaking the diet and should follow you seven days a week. A dream which could become a true technologic nightmare.
