Mike is 29, he’s from Florida and he is the SUPER organiser of Pirate Kart 2012, an event to promote home-made video games.

Pirate Kart was born in 2007, when Mike, a hobbyest game designer decided to take on the task of collecting and making available online and for free, DIY video game submissions from the internet community of equally passionate people about creating crazy, awesome and often dead-simple games.

Mike’s IGF Pirate Kart is so much more than a compilation of silly amateur games, but a new and fresh way to view video games, more personal and far from the political correctness imposed by the entertainment industry and at the same time forming a huge creative community.

Mike likes Poker, Go and Tennis better than any video game, but you’d never guess when you check out some of his own creations, such as the reflective and enigmatic: “How many angels can shit on one toilet”, where the goal is to try to place angels on a toilet rim without touching,  just to see how many can fit on there in one minute. And it’s not that easy.

The Pirate Kart 2012 will take  place at the Glourious Developers Konference Kollection on February 25-26.  More info about Pirate Kart indie games soon on AMUSEMENT.net.

I can’t take credit for organizing the first Pirate Karts! Credit for those go to Jeremy Penner aka SpindleyQ! (he’s the founder of Glorious Trainwrecks)
